After the Polish premiere of At Home in the World, last year’s IDFA winner, join us for a debate on the present refugee crisis. Berndt Körner, Deputy Executive Director of Frontex, will be among the panelists.
Right now Europe is wrestling with the toughest migration crisis since World War 2. Public opinion is dramatically polarized on this subject. In this time of a broad, heterogenous spectrum of information in the media, in this time of divergent messages from politicians, experts and activists, we will set aside our opinions and stances to face a question which is important and inevitable, yet short and simple in its essence: what next?
One of the obvious truths shown in this movie, though frequently forgotten in the thick of today’s fiery discourse, is the fact that this is first and foremost a human crisis.
The panel will be composed of:
Ewa Moncure – Frontex Spokesperson
Agnieszka Kosowicz – Chairwoman of the Polish Migration Forum, worked for 6 years as an external relations specialist in the Polish branch of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Wojciech Wilk – Chairman of Polish Center for International Aid (Fundacja Polskie Centrum Pomocy Międzynarodowej) providing humanitarian and development aid for 8 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe; former lecturer at Warsaw School of Echonomics.
Marcin Żyła – journalist, managing sub-editor at Tygodnik Powszechny
Moderator: Krzysztof Świrek – sociologist and film critic
Partner: Frontex
