Lower Silesia Grand Prix

For the next time Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival in cooperation with the cultural institution Odra-Film, is also organizing the Festival in Wroclaw. A jury, consisting of: Dorota Monkiewicz, Agnieszka Zwiefka, Adam Kruk will give out the Lower Silesia Grand Prix Award and 3 000 euros to the winning film from the Millennium Competition.

Dorota Monkiewicz

Founding director of the Wrocław Contemporary Museum, she co-authored the programme conception of the Wrocław Contemporary Museum (together with Piotr Krajewski). She is the author of the functional and utility concept of both buildings of the museum (the current temporary premises at a shelter at Strzegomski Square and the permanent museum building at Purkyniego Street). Art critic and curator.

Agnieszka Zwiefka

Film director and producer. For over 12 years she has cooperated with TVP as an author of various awarded TV programs and short documentary forms. In 2007 she obtained her PhD in new media and ever since worked as a lecturer of television journalism and documentary films at the University of Wroclaw. In 2010 she has established a company Chilli Productions focused on creative documentaries. Author of documentary films Albert Cinema” (2013) and a musical documentary “The Queen of Silence” (2014, premiered at IDFA and screened at over 40 festivals worldwide and broadcasted by such TV stations as HBO Europe, ARTE, SVT, YLE, RAI). Winner of Silver Horn award at Kraków Film Festival, the Big Golden Nanook at Flahertiana IFF, Zoom Award at IFF T-Mobile New Horizons and Urania Award at LET’S CEE festival among others.

Adam Kruk

Film critic, publicist, cultural event organiser. A graduate of film studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, prizewinner of the Krzysztof Mętrak Award (2012), member of Dante Alighieri Association in Wrocław and the Wrocław Film Foundation (Polish: Wrocławska Fundacja Filmowa). Author of articles, interviews, translations and audio-visual programmes for the magazines “Dwutygodnik”, “Kino”, “Ekrany”, “Kwartalnik Filmowy” and for the Internet portal “Filmweb”. He has lectures, meetings, workshops and film projects, among others, at the University of Lower Silesia, Film Academy (Akademia Filmowa), Polish Film Academy, Make-up and Styling Academy (Akademia Wizażu i Stylizacji), New Horizons of Film Education. He was responsible for such cultural events as the Polish Cinema for Beginners project, Flaneur Kulturalny programme, Popvictims.pl website and the Brave Cinema review.
